Use of a financial calculator is integral to the REIA training.

Which Calculator to Use
REIA training supports the Hewlett Packard brand calculators. Students are asked to use either the HP 12C or the HP 10BII calculator. These calculators are supported in all of the course materials, before, during, and after the classes. If you do not have a financial calculator, it is suggested you purchase the HP 10BII.

Smart Phone Emulators
These are not endorsed, suggested, or recommended. However, many students prefer a phone emulator to an additional piece of hardware.

Other Calculator Options
If you have another brand or model of calculator, you are welcome to use it. However, the instructor will only lecture on the HP 12C and the HP 10BII. Here are the capabilities of any calculator you bring and what you will need to know how to do:

Change the number of payments per year
Solve for Time Value of Money calculations
Enter irregular cash flows
Solve for Internal Rate of Return and Net Present Value

Pre Course Workbook

The best preparation for the RIPA training is to do the pre-course workbook before the class.

While all of the information will be covered in the class, experience has taught that those who don’t do this before the class tend to fall behind.
